Traveling is the best investment you can give yourself.
You may hear it all the time but it’s true. Traveling is as important as having a yearly check-up with a physician or a dentist. It’s even more important than the new Adidas Primeknit shoes or the new iPhone 8 coming this fall.
The best things in life aren’t the things we bought or the things that were given to us. It’s the memories and experiences we have kept in our hearts. It’s about you, your loved ones, the places you go to, the food you eat, the stopovers on a road trip, the conversations with locals, the surreal beautiful horizon, and the feeling of stepping into a place that you never thought existed. Because it’s certainly not about the destination, but the journey itself. #Hold on to Memories not to Material Things.
We are in a world that is constantly changing and moving. Yet here we are, holding on to things as much as we can. With all the tragedies happening in our world, we are already limited to the places we can go to. We are running out of time to move and to explore and it’s crazy that we’re okay with it.
A great philosopher once said. . .
“What is life but a form of motion and a journey through a foreign world?”
George Santayana (1964)
Traveling is a continuous learning of other people and most especially, yourself. We may have our own reasons why we travel but I think we can agree that traveling opens our minds and our hearts. We see things in a new perspective, we step outside our comfort zone, and that’s whats important.
I remember my dad inviting me to see the world after I graduated highschool. he wanted me to be exposed to other countries’ history and culture – not to be limited by what I can only see. I always carry this teaching with me. when given an opportunity to travel, I seize each moment with brand new eyes – without judgment but with genuine understanding. The feeling is ineffable. Stay Inspired!
