The Top Must-Haves’ in BeautyMNL for Sensitive DRY&OILY skin!!! + my skin care history //

So.. Why am I writing about this?

4 months ago, I had the perfect skin. No scars, no pimples, and no oil!

Yes!!! That’s right! There’s no need for edits and filters.

Thanks to Obagi and Roaccutane/Acnetrex, also known as Isotretinoin. Isotretinoin is a common medication for treating severe acne. It is usually given by a dermatologist after a few blood, liver, and cholesterol tests (they’re very strict about this). If ever the results you get are not within the normal range, they will not let you take this medication as it greatly affects your body. In Obagi, they would require me to retake the same tests every 3 to 6 months, to ensure that I’m healthy enough to continue the medication.

Another requirement that the dermatologists in Obagi will require when you take Acnetrex is that you take birth control pills with it because Isotretinoin is classified as FDA Prgenancy Category X and use is contraindicated in pregnancy.

Category X. Studies in animals or humans have demonstrated fetal abnormalities and/or there is positive evidence of human fetal risk based on adverse reaction data from investigational or marketing experience, and the risks involved in use of the drug in pregnant women clearly outweigh potential benefits (2017).

Please, please, please ASK YOUR DERMATOLOGIST first and do your own research about this product before you decide on anything. It’s a very strong and unhealthy medication for our body. The only reason why I’m writing this in my blog is that I want to show people that there may be other alternatives in this situation.

Acne is a reflection of something greater happening in the body that is not being corrected. Therefore, the skin continues to lash out in an effort to communicate that there is an imbalance, deficiency, or the mechanics within are just not working as they should be. But this takes time to figure out, and unfortunately, our conventional way of addressing acne tries to do this immediately with topical treatment and/or pills (Hernandez, 2017).

Why You Must Say No to Accutane for Your Long Term Health

I started using Roaccutane when I was 16 years old and later on, I stopped after a year and a half of medication. They say, when you stop taking Isotretinoin, it’s possible that your acne is gonna turn up again… of course, mine did and it was the worst. Last year, you wouldn’t recognize me. My face was literally covered with pimples. It’s like a pimple with a face. Heh! If you haven’t tried everything, from changing your lifestyle to a healthy one, eating the right and nutritious food, exercising regularly, sleeping 6 to 8 hours a day, then maybe you should make some changes in your habits before you ask your dermatologist for Isotretinoin.

My lifestyle is what others call, “pa-healthy“. I eat nothing but natural and healthy ingredients in my diet. I added more vegetables&fruits and lessened my dairy intake. I exercise twice or thrice a week with yoga in between. I also sleep very well with at least 6 to 8 hours a day. I have my own depressive episodes (but who doesn’t anyway??). I can say that I’m healthy physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. So what can you really do if you have an imbalance in your hormones? Well, not much. I had to drink Isotretinoin and take birth control pills.

The photo below was taken May of last year. I was already taking Acnetrex for 3 months and also had my Obagi regimen. My one year has come to an end and I don’t wanna continue Acnetrex or Obagi as a maintenance.

From dry and sensitive to DRY & REALLY OILY SKIN. I know it’s confusing. It confuses me too. My pimples are starting to go back slowly and I must admit, I’m getting scared. The photo below was taken a week ago. It’s my most recent picture without makeup on. My pimples have started on my forehead and it’s working its way to my cheeks as I type. Some of the spots had already lightened here because of the products I bought from BeautyMNL 😉

IMG_3308So yeah!! I just had to do something! I don’t want to go back to that state; moreover, I don’t want to be dependent in Isotretinoin all my life. The products below are helping me to have clear skin in a more natural way by having fewer chemicals and more natural ingredients in it. Results may vary depending on your skin type; thus, to know what your skin type is, click here! ✨

Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser  I use this 2-in-1 deep facial cleanser and gentle skin exfoliator in the morning. The first thing that you’ll catch is the smell; it’s the tea tree oil which helps diminish blemishes for a clearer complexion. With just one wash, you’ll definitely see the difference!! It will give you a fresh, smooth, and softer skin. Within a week, my face was less oily 😍

Jeju Volcanic Pore Cleansing Foam This pore-tightening cleansing foam cleanses clogged pores, purifies and washes away dirt-makeup-& other impurities, and absorbs sebum to keep skin from being greasy. I use it in mid-day or at night. You would think that this cleanser would be too strong to use daily, but it’s actually great to use everyday! Your skin will feel clean and moisturized after you wash!

Micellar Cleansing Water: Oil Control The most natural cleansing water of all time! It’s infused with natural mineral water from the Japanese Alps that is suitable for sensitive skin; free from alcohol, oil, fragrance, and colorants; allergy and ophthalmologist tested, non-comedogenic 😉 I use this non-wash makeup remover when I’m too lazy to wash my face with a cleanser. It’s usually before or after I teach yoga because I don’t want to irritate my skin by washing my face too much. It’s also an antibacterial which is why it’s a score!

Pixi Glow Tonic After using my toner, I use the Glow Tonic exfoliating toner. It comes with witch hazel leaf and ginseng extract, along with aloe vera leaf juice. It removes dead skin cells and leaves your complexion clear and sparkling. Did I say it’s alcohol-free? It’s crazy. Even though it’s an exfoliant, it doesn’t leave your skin dry and irritated but leaves it tightened and moisturized.

My Signature C Source “A best-selling serum that contains 40 times more Vitamin C than orange, 120 times more than strawberries, and 200 times more than mandarins that is packed with potent amounts of vitamins for beautiful, healthy skin; contains 6,000mg of 100% pure Vitamin C.” I use this twice a week for a good source of antioxidant on my face. It helps dry out pimples and lighten my scars a bit. It gives a clean, fair, and tightened skin.

Power 10 Formula VB Effector A lightweight, oil-free, alcohol-free, colorant-free essence for clearer, fresher skin. It controls sebum secretion with Vitamin B6, restores skin’s natural moisture balance, and hydrates and softens dehydrated complexions. Definitely my favorite in all my purchases. It really works!!! It controls my oily skin without drying it out. It hydrates and brightens my face every time I use it!

Rosehip Oil My secret love for my scars. Truly a miracle, after 3 to 7 days, your blemishes will be lighter!!! It will leave you with a glowing face. “A highly potent oil that lightens scars and improves the appearance of stretch marks. It is considered a miracle oil for its counteracting effects on hyperpigmentation and scars; powered by Karanja Oil, a natural preservative that helps treat eczema, psoriasis, skin ulcers, and dandruff.”

BHA Blackhead Power Cream An overnight treatment that banishes blackheads. It exfoliates; removes dirt, oil, and dead skin cells trapped inside pores; controls sebum for a shine-free finish; moisturizes, soothes, and softens skin; leaves your complexion clear and smooth. What more can I say? It’s like a surprise gift all wrapped in one. I use this twice or thrice a week after my night regimen.

Clarifying Witch Hazel Facial Mist I use this facial mist before and after I put my make up on. Sometimes, even during! It gives my face a more natural look and it actually lessens the oil on my face through the day! It’s a witch hazel facial spray that soothes and refreshes the skin. It calms, clarifies, and hydrates the face with witch hazel water and tea tree extract; refines skin tone and texture with vitamin C and lemon extract; and helps relieve inflammation and rid skin of bacteria.

Acne Pimple Master Patch It’s a hydrocolloid patch that spot-correct pimples. Truly a master 🙌🏽 I don’t even know how it works! Seriously, if you use it overnight on your acne, the next day, the pus would be on the patch and at the same time, the redness and inflammation of your acne lessen. It’s really like magic! To work best, just make sure to use it when your acne is almost ready for popping.

TeaFresh Organic Face Oil Blotting Paper An organic facial blotter infused with green tea natural plant extracts that absorbs oil for a shine-free finish; formulated with antioxidant-rich green tea; helps prevent breakouts and blemishes by neutralizing acne-causing bacteria and clearing the pores of impurities. This blotting paper gives you a matte finish on your face. Looking fresh and natural! Oil and dirt free.
